B-Sides & Bonus

Most of those aren't particularly rare but I guess it's convenient to have them all on the same page? If the track you're looking for isn't listed here, then it's either in the Rarities page, the Wonders one or the Love Letters Companion.

Songs are sorted by date. Not Made For Love EP songs aren't included as I don't consider any of them as B-sides (they're all on the 12" side A after all!).
If a song doesn't want to play, just refresh the page or download the file directly.

[2019] Metronomy Forever outtakes

Three songs that didn't make it to the final mix, though another mix that features them is floating around. It's Automatic was covered by Oscar for his Forever companion. It's Only Love appeared on the Lately cassette.

[2016] [unknown mix A]

from Summer 08 bonus 10"
First part of a great mix of unreleased materials. This one also features the Night Owl demo.

[2016] [unknown mix B]

from Summer 08 bonus 10"
Second part of the unreleased material mix. Sounds a bit like early electronica. Good stuff!

[2013] She Grows

from I'm Aquarius 12"
A grower kind of song! (no pun intended)

[2012] Hypnose

from LateNightTales: Metronomy
Their cover of a Jean-Michel Jarre rare song. Very good and the video clip is lovely!

[2011] Picking Up For You

from The Look 7"
Typical B-side instrumental. Could somehow picture it closing The English Riviera.

[2011] Tens And Tens

from The English Riviera
Quite good bonus track though it doesn't fit too well on The English Riviera IMO.

[2010] Anna On Drums

from the Metronomy Retrospective and the Green Room EP
This was first used as their ident for the Bicycle Film Festival but at a faster pace (which I prefer and is available in the Rarities). It was later released as part of the Green Room EP around the Main Square Festival then within the very good Metronomy Retrospective. This song sounds like an early demo of Love Underlined or something that forked from the same base.

[2008] Need Now Future

from Nights Out
A very strange UK bonus named after their self-made record label Need Now Future Records (they only had two releases though). Closes with even stranger noises that sounds as if played backwards.

[2008] Let's Have A Party

from the Heartbreaker VS Holiday EP and Nights In bonus CD
A very solid song, maybe a tad too blunt to be put on Nights Out though I guess? They used to play it live too. It can also be found on the Nights Out sampler (2007).

[2008] Our Raid

from the Heartbreaker VS Holiday EP and Nights In bonus CD
A favourite amongst Metronomy fans. They used to play it live as well.

[2008] The Chase

from the Heartbreaker EP and Nights In bonus CD
Probably one the least exciting B-sides in my eyes :)

[2008] Please Me

from the Heartbreaker EP and Nights In bonus CD
More interesting than it sounds at first! Evolves pretty nicely.

[2008] Over

from the Heartbreaker EP and Nights In bonus CD
Pretty much the same description as the track above.

[2008] Matthias Gathering

from My Heart Rate Rapid 12"
Another very solid instrumental B-side.

[2007] Are Mums Mates?

from Radio Ladio 7"
Another one they played live back then, some live versions are available in MP3 on this site (either within All Those Evenings or in the Fav' Live Picks. This was a really typical Metronomy song back in the days :)

[2007] Hear To Wear

from Radio Ladio 7"
This song is older than its release (like The End Of You Too), Metronomy used to play it a lot back in The Food Groups era. A good tune.

[2005] In The D.O.D.

from TotallyWired Downloads and later as a bonus on the Pip Paine re-re-release.
An incredible upbeat song they used to play live along with Oscar's dance moves. It was first released as a download on TotallyWired and later added with other B-sides as bonus tracks on the third release of Pip Paine. The song was also used in 2007 in an animation for Tado. And by the way, it's short for In The Days Of Daisy.
